Electric Vehicles

TVA is helping drive innovation in the Tennessee Valley and helping you drive the newest tech in transportation. We are excited to be working with a broad coalition of partners to increase the use of electric vehicles (EVs) in the region. Our shared goal is to pave the way for more than 200,000 EVs on Valley roads by 2028.

We’re hitting the ground running with a strategic plan for developing a fast-charging EV network across the region, making it easier for drivers to make the switch to EVs.

Tennessee is number 3 in the country for EV manufacturing, because auto manufacturers love our low industrial rates and high power reliability.

There is so much we can do together. Increasing the number of EVs in the Valley will lead to millions of dollars in fuel savings for drivers, millions of dollars in local investment and jobs for our neighbors, and dramatic reductions in carbon emissions across our region.

For you, it means more options when you’re shopping for your new ride. You can be confident that you’ll have the charging stations you need to get from Mississippi to the Appalachian Mountains and back. You’ll also be reducing your transportation costs and helping lead the way to better air quality and fewer carbon emissions. See you on the road!
