Entry Opportunities With Training

You can do more than just start a job at TVA; you can start a career. Through one of our many training programs, you can launch your career as an operator, technician, instrument mechanic, etc. TVA believes in investing in the region’s workforce—and in you.

We periodically offer the following entry-level training programs:

Fossil, Hydro and Nuclear Training

Training in these areas will help to propel you into a variety of roles, including:

The training is flexible to fit your schedule and combines both classroom and on-the-job training. Each of these programs can take between one to four years and equips you for a specific technical role with a salary range between $95,000-$112,000 a year.

To qualify, you may require a two- or four-year college degree and/or previous relevant work experience.

Transmission and Power Supply Training

Career opportunities are also available through training in the Transmission and Power Supply area. TVA’s training in this area prepares you for a variety of roles, including:

In these programs, you will be an apprentice, where you will participate in on-the-job training with experienced and skilled TVA team members. Graduates of this training may obtain positions that allow them to earn between $80,000 and $95,000 a year.
