Latitude Solar Center

Hardeman County, Tennessee

On August 26, 2016, TVA issued a final environmental assessment (EA) and finding of no significant impact for its proposed purchase of power from the Latitude Solar Center, a 20-megawatt (direct current) solar generating facility proposed to be constructed and operated by an affiliate of Coronal Development Services in Hardeman County, Tennessee.

The Latitude Solar Center, scheduled for completion in 2017, would occupy about 135 acres near Whiteville, Tennessee and use photovoltaic panels mounted on multiple rows of single-axis tilt racks to generate electricity. The facility would connect to the TVA transmission system through a power line to an existing nearby Bolivar Electric Authority substation.

The EA describes the anticipated environmental impacts of the construction and operation of the solar generating facility and associated electrical connection. TVA issued a draft of the EA for public review and comment in May, 2016. The final EA addresses the comments TVA received on the draft EA.
