Lone Mountain Shores Corporation Request for Approval of Shoreline Management Plan and Section 26a Approval

Norris Reservoir, Claiborne County, Tennessee

On March 7, 2000, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) completed a final environmental assessment (EA) and issued a finding of no significant impact (FONSI) to Lone Mountain Shores Corporation for shoreline development permits to build community facilities and individual private docks along 10.5 linear miles of TVA owned shoreline fronting Clinch River Mile 131.6, right bank, Norris Reservoir. In that EA, TVA concluded that the impacts of adopting the Shoreline Management Plan and approving the community dock and boat ramp for the Lone Mountain Shores development would not have a significant impact on the quality of the environment with implementation of the documented commitments. On March 8, 2000 the applicant proposed modifications to the plan that resulted in additional impacts to wetlands. TVA concluded in a March 21, 2000 Reevaluation of FONSI document that the impacts of adopting the requested modifications would not have a significant impact on the quality of the environment, as long as the original FONSI commitments and the revised wetland commitment are implemented.
