Selmer North II Solar Project

McNairy County, Tennessee

On August 11, 2016, TVA issued the final Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for its proposed power purchase agreement with the 10-megawatt Selmer North II solar generating facility near Selmer in McNairy County, Tennessee. The solar facility would be constructed and operated by Silicon Ranch Corporation.

The facility would be located about occupy about 1.5 miles west of Selmer and occupy 73 acres. It would use multiple rows of photovoltaic panels mounted on single-axis tracking structures to generate electricity. The facility would connect to the TVA transmission system through a connection to an existing nearby Pickwick Electric Cooperative power line.

The Environmental Assessment evaluates the anticipated environmental impacts of the construction and operation of the solar generating facility and associated electrical connection. TVA issued a draft of the Environmental Assessment for public review and comment in June, 2016. The final Environmental Assessment addresses the comments that TVA received on the draft.
