Starkville Solar Facilities

Oktibbeha County, Mississippi

On February 18, 2014, TVA issued a final environmental assessment (EA) and finding of no significant impact (FONSI) for its proposed purchase of electricity from three solar facilities in the vicinity of Starkville, Oktibbeha County, Mississippi.  The three facilities would generate a total of 1.267 megawatts of electricity with photovoltaic panels.  TVA’s power purchases would be through its Renewable Standard Offer program, where TVA purchases qualifying renewable energy at market rates.

Under the proposed action, TVA would execute the three power purchase agreements that would result in the construction and operation of the following solar facilities:  a 67-kilowatt ground-mounted facility on a 0.7-acre site west-northwest of Starkville; a 200-kilowatt roof-mounted facility on an existing commercial building in Starkville; and a 1-megawatt ground-mounted facility on a 3.6-acre site east of Starkville.  Each of the solar facilities would connect to the TVA power system through interconnections with local power companies.

The final EA and FONSI are available through the links below. Printed and CD copies may also be requested at the addresses below.
