TVA System Operations Center and Power System Supply

Bradley, Hamilton, and Meigs Counties, Tennessee

On February 19. 2020, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) issued a final environmental assessment (EA) and finding of no significant impact (FONSI) for its proposal to replace the existing System Operations Center (SOC) with a new standalone facility constructed approximately three-quarters of a mile northeast of the intersection of State Highways 58 and 60 in Meigs County in Georgetown, Tennessee.

TVA would also build approximately 5.25 miles of double-circuit transmission line, with approximately 4.25 miles located on existing TVA right-of-way (ROW). TVA would also purchase new 100-foot-wide ROW for the remaining one-mile section of transmission line, with approximately 0.2 mile of the new TL being located on the new TVA SOC site.
