The MLGW Board of Commissioners voted on Dec. 7 to conclude their nearly four-year evaluation of long-term energy supplier options and continue their relationship with TVA.

This process began with a broad stakeholder Power Supply Advisory Team, followed by an Integrated Resource Plan, which led to the current Request for Proposal phase.

TVA has been respectful and supportive of the process, and we are glad to see it come to a successful resolution. MLGW’s process has been a thorough, disciplined, and unbiased consideration of potential energy suppliers.

MLGW’s decision is a reinforcement of the longstanding relationship with TVA in delivering affordable, reliable, and clean energy to the people and communities across Memphis and Shelby County.

Our continued partnership with MLGW provides the best option for making this happen.”

TVA looks forward to working with incoming President and CEO Doug McGowen and building upon our 80+ year partnership as MLGW further considers the long-term option.

In the meantime, TVA will continue making investments and enhancing our presence in the community, as we committed to doing at the start of this process.
