Boone Beach Boat Ramp to Close for New Surface

Sep 29, 2020

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – In preparation for the rising levels of Boone Lake beginning in mid-October, TVA will be resurfacing Boone boat ramp on Minga Road Oct. 5-30. The new concrete surface will enable fishing enthusiasts to use the boat ramp when the lake level is at winter pool.

TVA announced in September that Boone Lake levels will begin rising 7 feet starting in mid-October at the rate of 2 feet per week. The lake will hold at approximately 1360 feet, plus or minus 2 feet, depending on weather, until mid-March when the lake will begin to rise again. Unlike past fluctuations, lake levels are expected to rise into the summer of 2021.

TVA is asking members of the public to secure or remove any docks or loose items along the shoreline in preparation for the lake raise.

TVA will provide more information at a Virtual Town Hall meeting Oct. 15.
