Truck Traffic on Edgemoor and Old Emory Roads

Oct 14, 2020

CLINTON, Tenn. — The Tennessee Valley Authority is preparing the new Anderson Substation site on Edgemoor Road, west of Melton Hill Reservoir. Over the next several months, trucks will be removing clean clay and soil from the site. The frequency of construction traffic entering/leaving the site will vary and may occasionally slow traffic. During busy traffic times, a flagger will help with traffic flow on Edgemoor Road.

To minimize dirt and dust, tarps will cover the contents in the truck, trucks will be brushed off before leaving either site, and ingress/egress points will be swept.

“We apologize for any inconvenience,” said Eric Murrell, TVA senior project manager. “We are trying to minimize impacts as we work to ensure reliable power for the area.”

The clay and soil will be transported a little over 4 miles from the site. Trucks will turn right onto Edgemoor Road from the substation construction site, travel about 2 miles, turn left onto Old Emory Road and end at Cozy Excavating & Contracting.

TVA is investing $2.2 billion Valley-wide in transmission system improvements between 2019 and 2024 to continue our mission of providing cleaner, low cost, reliable power.
