TVA Asks for Comments on Proposed Transmission Project in Dickson
DICKSON, Tenn. – The Tennessee Valley Authority is asking for public input on transmission system upgrades to prepare for growth and increase power reliability in the Dickson area.
TVA proposes to invest $28 million to build the new Locust Creek switching station, south of the Bon Aqua community in Hickman County, and about 14 miles of 161 kilovolt transmission line. TVA would build the new line using primarily steel, single and double-pole structures on existing and new right of way. Alternative line segments are under consideration for the route of the new line.
TVA encourages public input and invites stakeholders to attend the virtual open house from Feb. 4 to March 8, 2021. Project information and link to open house are available here: www.tva.com/energy/transmission/transmission-projects/dickson-tennessee. Detailed maps showing the proposed transmission lines and switching station will be available. Property owners will be able to ask questions and submit comments.
The public may also submit comments by contacting TVA’s Spencer Whittier toll free at 800-362-4355, by email at newtransline@tva.gov or by mail to: Spencer Whittier, Tennessee Valley Authority, 1101 Market St., MR 4G, Chattanooga, TN 37402-2801. The deadline for comments is March 8, 2021.
